Sean Witheford Sean Witheford
Managing Director

Profile

I have overall responsibility for all the commercial aspects of the business. I am also responsible for all areas that are common to Jet, Henson and Scotts such as Environmental, Personnel and Health & Safety. I joined Jet Plant In March 1990 as office clerk / spare jack-hammer man, went off to University and came back in June 1994. The best bits about my job are the wide cross section of people I meet with and talk to throughout my working week. Winning new work and customers!! The worst bits about my job are when things go wrong and we don’t deliver the service I expect to our customers. I take it very personally and feel a real sense of disappointment when we don’t meet our own high standards. In my free time I have recently been converted to cricket and play in the same village team as my son. I also run a junior football team through the winter as well as being Dad-Taxi for my four children.

Interesting Fact

I really enjoy mowing. There is very little more satisfying than a freshly cut lawn with perfect stripes. I have even volunteered my mowing services to the village cricket club helping to prepare the wicket each week.

Richard Lovell Richard Lovell
Contracts Manager

Profile

For eighteen years I have been an Operations Manager based in the South West. Recently, to accommodate Company growth, my role has changed to Contracts Manager, predominantly looking after contracts from the Newton Abbot depot. Other responsibilities include the management and maintenance of the South West depot.

I joined Tetlaw Contracting in 1994. Initially, as a qualified plant fitter and operator, then 2 metre foreman, before Mike Tetlaw promoted me to Operations Manager in 1999.

In 2004 Tetlaw was acquired by JET Plant, a family business with aspirations and the determination to expand on the Tetlaw good name and reputation.

The best bits about my job are working with a great group of people. We all work as a team and help each other when the going gets tough. With several years’ experience, from all aspects of the road planing industry, I have the background to help and advise customers to overcome problems - and this gives me a great deal of satisfaction.

In my free time, I have spent a lot of time renovating our 200 year old cottage. But I also enjoy spending days out and holidays with my family. Other pastimes are sea fishing and looking at the rusty old golf clubs in the garage.

Interesting Fact

For several years Tetlaw sponsored a Formula 1 powerboat team. From 1996 to year 2000 I was a member of the pit crew and travelled all over Europe and Asia. I consider myself extremely fortunate to have had that opportunity, an experience that I still look back on with great excitement.
