Jet has awarded special new award to dedicated employee
Jet Plant Hire, a leading player in the highways and construction industry, has awarded a special new award to one of its most dedicated employees.
The new trophy, presented to an employee who most embodies the values Jet operates to, has been named after Nick Verhoest. Affectionately known as ‘Knocker’, Nick passed away in October last year. He had worked at Jet for 18 years, driving one of the company’s iconic low loader trucks.
The winner of the first ‘Nick Verhoest Award’, as voted for by the rest of the Jet team, was his brother Sean Verhoest. Sean has also worked at Jet for many years.
Sean was presented the award at a special ceremony at the Jet headquarters in Evesham. Jet’s Managing Director, Sean Witheford, handed over the trophy and said: “I’d like to congratulate Sean for winning the first ‘Nick Verhoest Award’. Sean embodies the Jet values through and through, just like his brother Nick did. He’s a hardworking and dedicated member of our team and we’re lucky to have him working with us.
“This has also been a lovely way for us to remember our friend and colleague, Nick. He was universally liked and admired by both the team and our customers. Nick was treated by the amazing team at St Richard’s Hospice in Evesham, a charity that we’re proud to support at Jet.”
Sean Verhoest, the proud winner of the award, said: “It’s a real honour to have been chosen to win this award, especially as it celebrates the legacy of my brother. There’s a real family culture at Jet where we all look out for each other and I’m proud to be a part of that.”
