The UK’s leading road planing company, Jet Plant Hire is celebrating a landmark effort over the past eight months, removing an impressive 500,000 tonnes of road planings.
Jet, which has bases in Evesham, Newton Abbot and Bradford, covered 2.4 million miles over the period, from the North of Scotland to Devon and Cornwall.
The figures come after Jet announced it had recorded an exceptional customer satisfaction result, with an NPS score of 96 when Jet’s customers were independently surveyed, rating the company as exceptional. The Net Promoter Score (NPS) is a globally recognised measure of customer loyalty and satisfaction.
The result represents an eight-point improvement on the company’s already strong NPS performance (88) recorded in 2025.
A key part of Jet’s work is recycling 100% of the road planings in the work it undertakes. That means that half a million tonnes of planings were recycled in the period, heading for a new use, often in the binders and asphalt for new road laying, used as general aggregates within construction, or used on tracks and farm roads on agricultural sites.
Sean Witheford, Managing Director at Jet Plant Hire, said: “I’m incredibly proud of our dedicated teams both at our bases and on the road working on projects across the UK, day and night.
“These figures clearly show the impact we’re having, with a range of projects for our customers. It also follows our encouraging recent NPS Score, which is a great marker of the quality of work that we’re doing.
“We’ve been proud to offer industry-leading service for more than thirty years and, as we continue to expand with a new base in Bradford, we look forward to working with even more new customers to ensure they have a sustainable and high-quality partner to work with.”
Jet was also recently named by Avetta as a 2025 ESG Innovator, recognising its commitment to environmental, social and governance practices. Sustainability has long been at the heart of the company’s operations and growth strategy.
Jet also secured an ISO 14064-1:2018 aligned accreditation following an independent verification of its 2024-25 greenhouse gas inventory.
